A full transcription of the inhabitants of all the Union Workhouses in the county of Bedfordshire for the year 1841. The
information has been taken directly from the census enumerators’ returns. Includes those working there as well as the “pauper” inmates.

Workhouse, Biggleswade Union Workhouse, Leighton Buzzard Union Workhouse, Luton Union Workhouse & Woburn Workhouse.

occupation (if stated). In the 1841 census, information about a person's place of birth was usually only given as within or outside the county of
Bedfordshire, although births in Scotland, Ireland or "Foreign Parts" was noted.
